You can directly order from various graphic packages for your new snowmobiles these days. OEMs make getting snowmobile graphics much easier, and customers will be able to personalize or customize their new sleds. Most snowmobile makers will offer several options in order to satisfy various tastes and needs. These are great because factory-made graphics are a lot better in fit and finish, giving you the best quality possible.

Snowmobiles can look refreshed and unique with aftermarket packages. There are currently two types of plastic surfaces that snowmobile exteriors are made with, rough or smooth. The rough surface is a bit textured and not very shiny, kind of like a belly pan. The smooth surface is very glossy, like the outside of a car. The application of the graphic will differ for the two cases. Rough surfaces need dry methods, while smooth surfaces need wet application. Dry methods are required in order to accommodate the texture.

Graphics will be installed on the panels with the use of a machine. This way, the panels won't move around while you work. Also, the installer is able to work on the graphic alignment continuously.

During rough surface installations, you'll need to clean your hands before you start so you don't dirty the sticky section of the graphic. Start with the corner of the graphic, and place it on the panel using your fingers. You don't want to have any air bubbles visible on it, so peel it back and try again if there are.

After you perfectly place the graphic, you'll need to apply a bit of heat. Although this part is optional, heat does help secure the corners better and gets rid of some wrinkles. The graphics will shrink a bit, so be careful with the heat. Make sure you only apply a small amount.

A smooth surface has to be completely clean. Use soapy water or fluid that comes with the graphic kit, and spray it on the surface and sticky side of the graphic. It's perfectly fine if the fluid drips a bit. Lay the graphic down; it's fine to move it around a little. Once in the proper position, squeeze the fluid out from the center of the graphic.

Don't trap any fluid in the center. This will be a pain to remove later on. The excess fluid is similar to the air bubbles you might find in the rough surface applications.

You can trim off some of the edges off your graphic after installation. Keep in mind that proper application won't require this step. You can use a razor knife, but make sure you leave a fourth of an inch from all sides at least. Your graphic will looks a lot more professional and pleasing this way. Also, it won't catch on anything that brushes past.

Take a step back after you install the graphic to look at your snowmobile. You'll notice how different your snowmobile looks with even a simple graphic application. You can enjoy your sled even more this way, and can show your ride off for its new style.
