If one owns a car, he always has to check his engine regularly because oil sludge might develop inside which could cause problems for his car. Now in order to know whether his car has developed, he has to check out for certain signs. Here are some of the most common engine sludge symptoms that he would have to look out for.

Now if the car cannot seem to turn on, then there is definitely a problem right under the hood. Now usually, one would just need to start up his car by turning the key to the ignition. If he cannot seem to do this, then there is a possibility that he has a clog in his motor.

Now if the car does not want to start, it is possible that the thickened oil has covered the spark plugs. Now when this would happen, then the spark plugs simply will not spark which would result in the automobile not being able to start up. When this happens, one would have to wipe the substance from the spark plugs in order to fix it.

If one notices that his oil level is getting used up faster than usual, then he may actually attribute this to a clog. Now one would probably be wondering a clog can lead to oil being used up too quickly. Well since there is a clog, then the oil will not be able to travel properly in the motor which means that only a small amount of oil is being used.

Now another symptom that one can look out for would be if there is an issue with the oxygen sensor. Now the thing about the oxygen sensor is that it will not work properly if there is a clog because it will not be able to trace the correct amount of fuel. Now in this case, the sensor will say that there is not enough fuel in the car.

Now it is also very important to check if the oil pressure indicator would light up. One must immediately check for any clogs because this would most likely be the problem. The oil was most likely not able to be distributed evenly in all parts of the motor which is why the indicator reacted.

Now if the engine would overheat, then that is definitely a surefire sign that there is a clog somewhere there. Now since there are clogs in the motor, then the motor will just keep on working without there being any oil to be able to circulate properly to all parts of the motor. From there, all the movement will just make it overheat eventually.

So if one owns a car, he has to check for symptoms like these while he is driving. If he notices these problems but leaves them alone, then this means that he will have some long term problems with his car. So once he notices, he should clean up the sludge from the motor right away to avoid any further complications.
