Any person that would like to become a Canadian national will need to meet a few requirements for the residency application to get considered. The conditions are diverse and consider factors such as communication abilities, age, permanent resident status, as well as employment status. When looking to apply for citizenship Canada immigrants needs to show that they are in a position to pay for their basic needs such as housing, food, and transportation.

The fast track process is based on the length of time that a person has served the country, rather than the number of years that he or she has lived in Canada. For those who have served in foreign militaries, they do not need to be permanent Canadian residents. One needs to meet the following requirements when applying for residency.

When applying for residency, age is the very first factor that is considered. Any person that wants to be a national should prove that he or she is eighteen years old. For this, an identification card, or a passport can be used. When parents are applying for residency status for a child or minor, they should be able to show that they are the legal guardians or birth parents of that child.

When applying for permanent residence, there are certain conditions that you must satisfy. The applicant should not be under review for fraud or immigration reasons, be under a removal order, or have conditions that are unfulfilled relating to their permanent resident status. An applicant is not required to have a permanent resident card so as to apply for residency. For those that have an expired PR card, they can still apply for residency.

All the candidates are required to show that they have been in the country for at least 1460 days. Also, they must be able to demonstrate that they have been within the state borders for at least 183 days before the date of submitting their application. The requirements only apply to adults, as children under eighteen years are exempted from the conditions.

For those that have been working during their stay in the country, they should be able to show that they have filed their tax returns with the state. Income tax filing is another criterion that is considered when reviewing nationality applications. It is required that all applicants submit their income tax returns for four, of the 6 years that they have been living in the state.

As an applicant, you will also be required to declare your intention to reside when submitting your application. One should also indicate his or her indication to work or reside abroad as a crown servant, or with other people that are crown servants. The indication is an important part of the application process.

The nationality application process also looks at language abilities of the applicant. In Canada, there are two official languages; French and English. So as to become a resident, you must demonstrate that you have adequate knowledge of at least one of the two languages. Generally, it means that you should be able to take part in everyday conversations, understand simple questions, and directions, and make use of basic grammar.
