When someone has the inspiration to drive race cars at the age of only nine years old, it can either be just a phase or a lifelong passion. In the case of Reagan May racing was to become her passion that would soon lead her to a number of successes. Thanks to her achievements and rise to fame, people everywhere are starting to realize that motorsports does not have to be a rich boys' club.

At the Luxemburg Speedway, May received the award for the IMCA Youngest Winner. At the age of only 16, she was awarded the Rookie of the Year Award. TUNDRA has also named her the 2014 Rookie of the Year, and her achievements on the track show no sign of stopping.

This driver has earned the prestige of being the second female driver to win a feature event in the entire history of the TUNDRA Super Late Model Series. This is not only an achievement that adds to her own personal success, but also has the chance to inspire countless other drivers out there. One can only wonder how many young female drivers will follow in this one's footsteps.

May comes from a whole family of drivers. Both her father Kip and her brother Parker were racers, and so she has plenty of opportunities to develop her skills and learn about the sport as she was growing up. May's mother is also involved in the driving scene, always there in the pits to help out.

Much more than just a driver, she has also attended Michigan Technological University. That is where she got a degree in Mechanical Engineering, a huge advantage to have as a racer. This gives her the ability to understand what is going wrong when she has car troubles and allows her to be able to fix problems on the spot.

Some of this racer's idols include any individual who has been able to make it in this sport since it is such a hard thing for anyone to do. She especially looks up to any women who have excelled in the sport since it is so male-dominated. But above all, she looks up to her own dad who gave her the opportunity to race and has an amazing legacy racing SCCA.

It can be hard to feel comfortable on every single track that a driver has to race on, and this can present some challenges when traveling to different locations to race. May feels that she is just as comfortable on one track to the next, which is a huge advantage for someone who travels a lot. For this reason, there is no one specific track that she calls her home.

It is the competitiveness of the sport that gets this driver feeling really involved and excited about it. One of the things she loves best about the competitive aspect is that even though they are trying to best each other on the track, they always walk away from it as best of friends. She sees the other racers and people in this community as one big family, and that is something she really enjoys about the sport.
