There are various ways of increasing the torque and horsepower of a motor. Installing stroker engines is one of these ways. In this context, torque refers to the rotational force generated by the engine. Globally, torque is normally measured in lb-ft. However, the horsepower is usually obtained by multiplying the torque by RPM and afterwards dividing it by 5252. Normally, the strength of engines is determined using torque and horsepower.

It is interesting to note that these engines work through four main stroke processes. These processes are intake, compression, combustion, and exhaust in that order. This process normally works procedurally in that the next process begins once the previous one has been completed and continues in that manner. As the combustion process continues, the piston is forced downwards, hence the energy is created which is converted to rotational force through the crankshaft.

After the combustion process has completed and the resulting energy converted into rotational force, the car is forced into motion. In other words, it is the rotational force created by the crankshaft that generates the necessary kinetic energy the car needs. Drive in the car results from this kinetic energy.

In order to increase stroke in some products a stroker kit is required. The kit increases stroke by increasing the length of the crankshaft and at the same time decreasing the length of the connecting rod. The two simultaneous processes by the kit makes the piston to move down a little more while maintaining the peak height at the same level as a factory engine.

Just like it is possible to increase stroke in these products, decreasing it is possible too. Decreasing the stroke implies that the procedure of increasing stroke has to be reversed. Usually, the connecting rod length is increased as the crankshaft is reduced. This is done in case where a smaller engine needs to be made.

Altering the stroke requires a high level of skills and professionalism in the field. This is because these products comprise of many mathematical and engineering functions. Handling this field can be difficult for one who has very little knowledge of engineering terminology and does not grasp mathematical concepts clearly. Such a person might not be in a position to use the available formula to calculate the horsepower and torque of different products correctly.

It is important to note that the initial design of these products is experiencing a reduction in efficiency with the increasing need for more power. As of now, companies are in competition to produce products which meet 90% of market demand. The efficiency of an engine can also be determined using parameters like the combustion power, size, and the cost. As far as cost is concerned, products in the market ought to be affordable and with an acceptable size.

In general, the future for these engines seems bright due to the fact that every manufacture is trying to produce the best products possible. These products are going to be more affordable, smaller and with acceptable power consumption in future. Also, the working mechanism of these products is bound to change.
